Thenmala is located at Kollam district in Kerala. It’s an ecotourism site in Kerala, a state in southwest India. It lies just north of the Thenmala Dam, which spans the Kallada River. The Elevated Walkway winds through a thick canopy of trees, home to many native birds. To the east, Pathimoonam Kannara Bridge is a 13-arched bridge along a mountain railway route. Farther east, the Palaruvi Falls cascade into a deep pool.

1. Thenmala Dam
It’s the second largest irrigation project in Kerala, India. It impounds the longest reservoir in the state and water from the reservoir is also used for power generation.
2. Butterfly Park Thenmala
Butterfly park is located near Thenmala .It cover almost 3.5-hectare educational park features over 100 species of butterflies in a flower-filled area.
3. Deer Park Thenmala
Deer park of Thenmala is a distant part of Thenmala eco tourism and is built within the Kallada river side forest. Apart from various varieties of deers what you can see interesting here is a Tree House and a small Children’s park with some ecologically blended resting places.
4. Leisure Zone Thenmala
Leisure zone is a good area to relax, it brings the tourists close to appreciating nature and eco tourism. It has a food court with some restaurants, a shooing court and amphitheater etc. It also has a musical fountain which is very famous among tourists.
5. Ecotourism Thenmala
For nature tourists who prefer to epxlore the nature trails through forests, this zone would be the paradise. There is scope for tours and trips taking you close to the unspoiled charms of nature. Soft trekking - Guided trekking through the outskrits of Shenduruney Wildlife Sanctuary, Deer Rehabilitation Centre, Boat Ride - boating to explore the greenary of Shenduruney Wildlife Sancutary and one hour boat services are available in one hour intervel. Timing: 09.00 am t0 04.00 pm, Santuary Trekking and Santuary Hiking.
