Discs & Machines - Sunny's Gramophone Museum

This museum cum Archive houses more than 300 Gramophones/Record Players, Phonographs, Various types of Magnetic recorders like Wire Recorders, Tape Recorders, Cassette Recorders etc, Laser Players, Musical instruments, a section for antique articles like various types of Sewing Machines, Mechanical Clocks, Oil lamps, Old palm leaf documents and books, weights and measures, Printing blocks etc.. Archive has more than 100,000 rare gramophone discs and cylinders issued from 1890s to 1980s.
In the Museum, there are more than 260 gramophones, record players, Phonographs, wire recorders,tape recorders, laser players, early period sewing machines and musical instruments. Additional attractions are antique items, vintage cars and bikes and the art works of the owner in wood and cement concrete.













Bay Island Driftwood Museum

Bay Island Driftwood Museum in Kottayam houses a large collection of articles carved from either driftwood or any other wood recovered from the water. The different themes and patterns of the exhibits are striking. Art-lovers and fascinated tourists make it a point to include the Bay Island Driftwood Museum in their itinerary.

Illikkal Kallu

Illikkal Kallu is located on top of the Illickal Malaa in the Kottayam district of Kerala, India.
It situated at around 3400 feet above sea level,
Tourists must trek almost 1 km to reach the summit of the peak.
The beauty and the landscape of illikkal kallu is similar to that of the pillar rocks in Kodaikanal. It is said that the mythical medicinal herb Neela Koduveli grows here. This mythical blue flower is also believed to possess supernatural powers, which could increase wealth and ensure a rich harvest.[1]

From the hilltops, the Arabian Sea can be seen on the far horizon as a thin blue stroke. The view of the sunset from above the peak in the evening of a full moon day can be sensational: the moon can be seen rising up like another sun, as the orange sun goes down.
